I recently began doing a Sketch A Day in hopes of improving my sketching and rendering ability. The time spent on each sketch ranges from 15 minutes to a couple hours, everything is done free hand.
The goal of this project was to create a piece of furniture that incorporates some sort of turning and bending of wood. I was given one sheet of bending ply to create a form with.

This spoon concept has a teaspoon and tablespoon measurement with in the main scoop of the spoon, along with the whole recessed area acting as 1/4 cup. The handle turns into a pepper grinder for seasoning food to taste. The pepper can be interchangeable with sea salt and are easily removed with a push down and twist motion for easy cleaning of the spoon.
This project consisted of redesigning a set of “Shears” I chose to work with a conventional pair of scissors. Scissors are usually pretty generic and serve one purpose, which is to cut something. I chose to make my design ergonomic and easier for different hand sizes to hold. After some research I decided on incorporating a ruler measurement along the blade to measure as the user cuts. I also attached on a utility knife for the versatility of being able to cut multiple things with one object.

In 2014 I started my own Etsy shop and began selling my own design of colored pencil earrings. I had previously seen designs for fake gauges but nothing made with a colored pencil. I set up shop with my scroll saw, dremel, and small disk sander and began fulfilling orders.
This was an assignment from my junior level Human-Centered Design class. We had to take apart an existing electronic and redesign it to add semantic value. I has a final product for that class and once I was in my portfolio review my next semester, I chose to re-evaluate the design and come up with something new.
